FOODSAFETY AT INTERCITY
PACKERS
What is FOODSAFE?
- An intensive 8 hour training course developed by the
BC Ministry of Education, Skills, and Training to prevent
foodborne illnesses
- A course that teaches the basics of microbiology, the
different types of microorganisms, the conditions in which
they grow, how they are transmitted, and the methods of
control
- Teaches the importance of cleanliness and sanitation
in receiving and storing food to servicing and dispensing
- Describes the conditions for potentially hazardous foods,
the need to properly cook foods, and the importance of time
and temperature control in preventing foodborne illnesses
FOODSAFETY at Intercity Packers
- FOODSAFETY is a requirement for ALL employees as part
of our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Program
- Education and empowerment of employees in proper food
handling techniques on all of our products
- We have a fully trained Instructor on staff.
